The industry of recruiting is wide and there are different recruiter job opportunities for different industries. Are you also planning to join the industry and take up one of the recruiting careers? If yes, you must have a degree in human relations, marketing, public relations, psychology, or any other related discipline. If you have an MBA in HR, you will surely brighten your chances to excel in a recruiting career. This course will teach you about the complete basics of recruiting and its entire process, i.e. approaching candidates, short listing them, conducting interviews, selecting, conducting appraisals, and so on.

Recruiters need to have good communication and interpersonal skills. They must have a good personality and must be properly dressed. They must be able to judge candidates from their body language and mannerisms. They must be smart enough to ask intelligent and probing questions to know how good a candidate is. They must have good observational and decision-making skills.

An important thing to know about recruiting careers is that you can work as an internal recruiter or third-party recruiters often termed as headhunters. Most large corporations need to hire people on a regular basis. Therefore, they have an internal recruitment team or HR department. Internal recruiters or corporate recruiters perform many functions like negotiating salaries, hiring, conducting entry and exit interviews, communicating company policies to employees, solving employee disputes and more. Internal recruiters can be full-time employees of work on a contract basis. Corporate recruiters are paid a fixed salary.

A third party recruiter, staffing agency or a job consultancy, on the other hand, works independently. They work for various corporate professionals looking for qualified staff and conduct the entire recruitment procedure on their behalf. Depending on how many people get selected as a result of their efforts, they get paid. These recruiters send out candidates to the clients and if the client is satisfied with those candidates, they will hire the candidates. The will receive payment only after their candidate begins work. They help in recruiting full time, part time, or contractual candidates too.

You can also try to work in a staffing agency to begin your recruiting career. Staffing agencies put up advertisements to attract candidates regarding job placement. Suppose 25 candidates respond to the advertisement, then the focus of the staffing agency will be to bring up all the 25 candidates for interview and select the best. As per the study, it has been found that 98% of organizations use staffing agencies to recruit professionals. Hence if you get to work with such agencies at the start of your recruiting career you will surely have a bright future.

There are also openings for the positions of contract recruiters too. These recruiters work for a client directly and are required to fill numerous positions as part of the contract. The assignments of these contract recruiters can extend from a few weeks to more than a year. If the performance of the recruiters is good, then the clients sometimes hire them permanently. A contract recruiter does not need to bother about overhead, technical difficulties, advertising, office supplies, etc. The hourly compensation of such a job is between $25.00 and $75.00 approximately.

With the right qualification and above mentioned skills, you can advance in recruiting careers. One can begin as an HR assistant and with experience can rise to senior HR, assistant manager, and HR manager. Recruiting careers have a great future. According to a study recruiter jobs are expected to grow more than other jobs through 2014.
