An IT recruiter is responsible for recruiting IT professionals for the company or its clients. Specific duties of an IT recruiter include contacting employers through telephone calls or personal visits, getting information about their current needs for IT professionals, getting a list of available positions in various divisions of IT, staying abreast with various new technologies and projects in the IT field, making a database of prospects for IT jobs, contacting prospects via emails or phone calls, informing them about the openings and providing other details, guiding prospects through various rounds of interviews, meeting and exceeding individual recruitment targets and performing several other tasks. An IT recruiter typically reports to a recruiting manager.
An IT recruiter should have a four-year degree. Familiarity with various positions and technological know-how in the IT sector are essential. Prior experience in IT recruitment is desirable.
