Recruiting is the process of screening and choosing candidates according to their profiles, talents and skills for a particular industry or company. The task is to recruit an employee who will respect the values and ethics of the organization, and will work towards achieving success and profits for the organization. The contract recruiting jobs are in demand these days because the clients assign them with the task of hiring employees for the contract period. These are individuals who are willing to work on a contract basis. This novel trend has emerged during recession and gained popularity as most companies are constraining their budgets.

The contract recruiters are responsible for selecting employees on contract basis for their organization. The job profile of a contract recruiter would basically consist of interacting with employers at a regular basis. A contract recruiter needs to understand the requirements and priorities of the employer for a particular contract position. Most important of all, a contract recruiter must find out the suitable kind of employee that the employer is looking for. His job is to act as a bridge between the employer and the employee. The contract recruiter also has to inform a prospective candidate about the details and prospects of the job openings. He or she should also develop new recruiting and networking strategies thereon successfully scrutinizing and identifying the prospective candidates. It is up to the contract manager to evaluate the strengths of the candidates and judge them against the client's requirements. He may also need to negotiate and follow up with commissions and prepare a database of prospects in various industries for employers benefit.

The primary educational qualification required is a Bachelor's Degree in any stream. Those from management backgrounds are preferred for the jobs of contract recruiters. Apart from this, individuals with human resource backgrounds like sociology, psychology, etc. are preferred because they have a service oriented motive towards their jobs.

The recruiter should have the skills to accept challenges and plan to accomplish them and also implement problem solving techniques. Interpersonal skills along with a basic convincing power are vital aspects to a successful contract recruiting career. The contract recruiter must be outgoing, and have apt networking contacts in various industries.

Moreover, a contract recruiter should have a yearning to work in an advanced, and fast paced sales environment. He or she should be instinctive for a flawless judgment and prudence, along with planning skills to accomplish the given targets.

Aspiring candidates can seek necessary professional training from the various services firms available to edge their qualities and make themselves more marketable as a contract recruiter. Often free training may be offered by the employer only to instill the necessary vital skills like communication and word processing. As such agency training policies may vary from one company to another it is better to inquire about the training part before hand.

A contract recruiter's prime job responsibility is to help the hiring company in sourcing, screening, and communicating straightaway with the applicants. Hence, a solid experience in corporate recruitment is a vital necessity.

Contract recruiting has great career prospects and if you are the kind who loves to convince people, this job is perfect for you. In times of recession when more and more companies are opting to recruit people on short contract basis to reduce overall costs, the demand for contract recruiters has risen. However, you would need a strong mind to cope with the constant pressure that contract recruiting bestows upon individuals.

The contract recruiting salaries can be paid on an hourly basis and are highly flexible. Thus, it is advised that you should negotiate a higher salary for contract recruiting jobs. If you manage to become a senior contract recruiter, you can earn up to $50 an hour or even $70-$90 an hour depending on the location you are working at. As a junior contract recruiter you would have to start off with a salary of $20-$30 an hour. A full process of recruiting an employer must pay the contract recruiter a minimum rate of $50 an hour.

In most of the companies and business houses it is the human resource department that is responsible for conducting the recruitment assignments. But in the current times hiring contract recruiters have become rather common as there is a huge rush for staffing which is unmanageable by the in-house team. With the increasing preference for contract recruitments rather than permanent openings in the hours of recession, the job of a contract recruiter has become all the more popular.
